Christ Church, Spitalfields in London
Nicholas Hawksmoor, 1714—1729
One of the six churches designed by Hawksmoor for the “Commission for Building Fifty New Churches”.
I have drawn it as it appeared before it was altered in the mid 19th Century.
Most importantly the steeple has its finials, vases and dormers. I think this gives the church a definite Gothick character.
